Apps and software
Basic information
The software on HPC clusters is organized in modules provided by the Lmod system. It is dedicated to dynamic loading and switching of software versions, allowing users to easily customize their working environment through the module load/unload commands. The most commonly used commands include:
- module avail – shows the available modules,
- module list – displays the currently loaded modules,
- module load
– loads the selected module, - module unload
– removes the specified module from the environment, - module purge – removes all currently loaded modules.
To search for information about the availability of a given module on the list, you can use the Search field located at the top of the list page, or use the ctrl+f command. In case the software you are looking for is not available, you may submit a request to install it via the PLGrid Helpdesk, providing all relevant information: its name, preferred version, and source address.
Please note that the required software may require a proprietary license.
